Work Experience It was on the 24th of June 2003 when I first walked through the back doors of Phone City in Kingsbury for my two unforgettable weeks of work experience that I wished would never end, simply because I had so much fun. Finding a work placement was not supposed to be very distressing but it turned into an unending nightmare. My work placement was seemingly sorted out at the commencement of year ten but I was deceived. A week prior to the start of my work experience I found out that my original work placement had, in fact, become void because the firm that I was supposed to work in decided that they were no longer taking on placements and if I desired to work anywhere during the crucial two week period then I was obliged to find myself a new placement and fast. Fortunately, my father has a lot of contacts and he gave me a way out of the predicament that I was in. He helped to assign me to the placement that I would be in for my work experience, Phone City. I was filled with delight the moment that Mrs Lunan (the teacher in charge of work experience) confirmed my placement. I had survived by the skin of my teeth. The great day finally arrived where I was to start what I was hoping to be a marvellous experience. WORK EXPERIENCE The government insists upon every fourth year student completing a one week work experience. This is to give the pupils a taste of what working will be like when they leave school. Many of them will do this after having sat their standard grade exams, so it is very beneficial for those students in particular. I have recently completed my work experience at Glaxo SmithKline Beechams. I found my placement mainly by myself, although Mr Cook, the teacher in charge or work experience aided me in contacting them. In the following paragraph I shall give some basic factual information concerning my work experience. I was working at Glaxo SmithKline Beechams, Irvine Plantation. It is a pharmaceuticals' plantation which makes the main ingredients in medicines such as Clavuanate, which in an antibiotic and Paroxetine, which is an anti-depressant. I was there from 2nd - 4th December. My working hours were from 08:30 - 16:30, however on the initial day I did not start until 09:00. The company had been preparing for my arrival. Transport to Beechams is awful. There are no buses or trains, consequently the only way to travel there is by car. During my three day placement I was driven by my parents. GCSE English Literature Work Experience Assignment I was very excited about the responsibilities and challenges that I would experience. The company is connected to my interests, which are computers, digital imaging, and journalism. Unfortunately, the company turned down my work placement when I contacted them, as they couldn't fit me in at that appropriate time, as other student already had work experience places there. After that I basically ran out of hope and desire to come across a work placement on my own. So I left it up to my school to hopefully find a good work placement I would enjoy, and that would fit my interests. Sadly enough my own school couldn't even find me a work placement, with only a couple of days before work experience was due to take place. I felt really angry with my school, as it is really important I achieve my work experience. It is vital in many ways, because I would experience what it is like before I actual start a professional career, and also it would go down in my record of achievement. The only way to get a work placement for me now was to have great courage and find one myself. Luckily I contacted Telegraph and Argus again and they happily gave me a work placement, only four days before work experience started. I explained my situation and they probably felt sympathy for me. I was grateful and very fortunate to acquire my work placement.

Work Experience 2008 For my work experience I worked in St. Joseph's Nursery with a lot of different children with different abilities. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience both with my colleagues and the children; I will never forget the experience I had. Work Experience Essay It all started when we were first told about work experience. I thought to my self 'great no school for two weeks.' I was quite excited, as I wanted to look for an interesting place to work. I had always liked cricket so I thought it would be nice working somewhere there is cricket being played. Work Experience Essay Feelings of fear, anguish, excitement, and shock all rushed through my body like a steam train as I received my work experience reply slip in afternoon registration the previous Monday. I looked through it casting me eyes on every single detail like a hawk hunting its prey, making sure that I didn't miss anything, that would be of great importance to me at a later date. Work Experience Report Just two days before the dreaded work experience, butterflies play rugby in the pit of my stomach and I feel surrounded by a fog of dread as the realization of venturing in the unknown that is work finally hits me with an almighty boxing glove! Like many other people I secured my placement in advance, two years in advance in fact! My Mum was chatting with her friend Lyn who works at the Priorswood Library in Taunton and the conversation turned to work experience as my older brother was doing just that at the time.
