In “to kill a mockingbird” Tom Robinson; an innocent man accused because he is black and when Bob Ewell says “we should be sorry for negro folks” All of those supports our incidents of discrimination.
In “to kill a mockingbird” Atticus Finch is discriminated because he is defending a black man. On page 153 Atticus Finch goes to sit outside the jail of Tom Robinson. An angry lynch mob shows up to try to take justice in to there own hands. Attics finch will not get out of there way. The lynch mob decides to hurt Atticus but just in time scout saves him. If it was not for scout Atticus would have been hurt or killed for defending a black man and sticking up for his beliefs. Bob ewell, Walter Cunningham and other towns people were part of the lych mob, this occasion took place in the night at the court house.
Ms Dubose, on page 102 says “your father’s no better than the negros and the trash he works for”. This happens at Ms Dubose house during the summer on 1933 in the novel. This is discrimination towards Attiucs because he denfends what he believes in. Scott and jeM were very upset about the comment she made but attiucs didn’t mind it because he knew he was doing the right thing.
In “to kill a mockingbird” Atticus finch is discriminated by the lynch mob threatening him and Ms Dubose prejudice comments towards Atticus and what he works for.
In “to kill a mockingbird” Calpurnia is also discriminated. Aunt Alexandra will not allow Scout and Jem go to Calpurnias church because she is black(lee 182)this incident is held in the Finch household. Jem and scout get upset and atticus says “you must obey what your aunt tells you”(lee 183).It is unfair that children should not be allowed at church because it is a Black church. Aunt Alexandra does not like the fact that Jem and Scout are going to her church because she is Black. This shows discrimination towards her because she has not harming the children but is only showing them her beliefs.
At the dinner table, Calpurnia does not eat with the Finches even though she is loved by the family. This is indirect discrimination which is not meant but happens at the finch household. This happens in chapter 3 of the novel. Jem and Scout think of Calpurnia as a mother but by her not eating with the family shows that she is not equal with the Finches.
In “to kill a mockingbird” Calpurnia is discriminated by Aunt Alexandra by not allowing the children to go to her church and by the Finch family when Calpurnia does not eat at the same table as them.
In the novel “To kill a mockingbird” by Harper lee, Tom Robinson Atticus Finch and Calpurnia are characters that have been discriminated throughout the novel for here beliefs and there race. Tom Robinson; black man accused for a crime because he is black and when Bob Ewell say "we should feel sorry for you negros”.Attiucs when the lynch mob threatens to hurt him for standing up for his beliefs and when Ms Dubose says "your farther aint better than the negros and the trash he works for”.Calpurnia by Aunt Alexandras comments towards Calpurnia and Calpurnia not eating at the same table as the finch family.
