“Sweet Dreams”

By Alex Boultwood

Bullets flew everywhere, Jason leapt across the office firing his Desert Eagle, crouching down behind a desk he reloaded and cautiously peered out. Three shadowy figures stood at the entrance wearing balaclavas and clutching M16 rifles. They frantically searched to find their target. Bodies lay everywhere, mutilated by the bullets, which ripped through them. Instinct took over. Jason rolled out into view unleashing a magazine into one of the enemies in confusion the attackers retaliated violently discharging rounds of M16 bullets haphazardly into the room. They still stood at the entrance holding up their guns ready to kill anything with a pulse. Nothing. Jason waited gripping his gun. They moved cautiously into the office grasping their rifle defiantly. One of them searched purposefully in their pocket and successful yanked out a grenade, ready to neutralise the threat. He slipped his finger into the ring waiting for the right moment. Jason’s heart began to beat louder in his chest. Jason would need to stay where he was until he thought it was safe to make a run for it. He slumped against the desk thinking of how he got into this mess.

Jason was sent into investigate, and if possible gain new information about Noyogen’s terrorist operations. Jason was getting real close to Noyogen and felt he was onto something. This morning he discovered a plot to bomb the United Nations building and hold major world leaders hostage until their governments paid a sum of $10,000,000 for their safe return. As Jason dug deeper he found out that Noyogen had no intention of keeping them alive for long and the world leaders would all be dead by the time the money had been exchanged. Jason knew he had to leak this information. However, someone had blown Jason’s cover and the Osomaka Building was stormed this morning by Samutatchi’s men looking for Jason. He needed to get out before it was too late.

Jason rose to his feet, maintaining his grasp on the cold steel handle of his gun. He looked around, the walls were stained with blood there was a deathly silence. Slowly he walked out of the room into the corridor. His first priority was to find his partner Adam Sommers. Adam was in the offices just down the corridor, Jason needed to get to him quickly without alerting anymore guards. Pressing against the wall he clasped his gun close to his shoulder. He slid left holding his breath someone was in the office. Jason heard footsteps getting closer; a hand ...
