Women In Islam.

Furthermore, women have more advantages in some ways than men in the religion Islam. For example, women are excused from their prayers and fasting while they are on their period, they are exempted of all financial responsibilities before and after marriage and gets all the recognition of motherhood and raising a child. As a wife she can demand her husband of dowry, does not have to work or share her earnings with her husband and as a daughter or sister she is entitled to security by the father or brother.

Likewise, a women is also responsible of some responsibilities towards the religion Islam. Her first responsibility is to please her husband, take care of her children and family. This is because a guy can never give the affection to a child as a mother. That is the reason why one said "there is no such love as a mother's love". She has to please her husband not because she is his servant but because marriage is a relationship that's built upon love, affection, trust and sacrifice and God has built women with such type of love and strenght. She is also responsible for keeping the family together in order to maintain the love amongst each other. She has to respect her family and in-laws under any situation. She is also responsible for covering herself so no men can approach her or look at her with sexual intentions. This can be pants and full sleeves shirt with hijab. Hijab is a piece of cloth that the muslim women wear to cover their hair. Quran tells women to wear hijab because woman's hair is a symbol of her beauty and if the beauty is covered than men wont get aroused in a sexual way towards them. Moreover, she is responsible for giving her children the right teachings of Islam. She is also required to keep her respect, honor and diginity intact relative to strangers. Thus, according to Quran, a muslim women  is liable for few tasks, none of which are unfair.

However, men in our society are the ones that have created many false perceptions of Islam by using it as the base of treating women unfairly. For example, men say that we can marry four women because Islam says so. Wrong! Islam says that "a man can marry four times only if the previous wife gives him the permission to do so happily, the previous wife is sick and dying and/or the previous wife can not fertile". Islam does not give the permission for men to marry four women for their pleasures. Also, in many muslim countries, the men does not let his wife work or leave home. He makes her cover herself into a piece of clothing in which only her eyes can be seen. Those are men made rules. The words from Quran have been taken an altered in order to supress women and to lower their identity/status. Many men abuse their wives because they think they have right over her body, her mind and her soul. They think that after marriage a women is their slave and therefore, they own her. This society has given men the power and freedom to have such a low thinking. Again, these are men made norms in order to control women and prove that they are stronger than them. For example, muslim women in Afghanistan have no rights what so ever, very few of which is stated in the Quran and rest are just men made because this society has been male dominated for years. Women their have been suffering forever because religion is used as an excuse to repress them. Therefore, as can be seen by the above, muslim women are not paying the price of being in the religion Islam, but the thinking of low male dominating society and their traditional views.  

In conclusion to the above, no religion treats one another differently because we are all created by one God. The religion Islam does not opress women or their rights. It's the political male leaders who use islam to get their way. No one should have to pay the price of being in a certain relgion. The male dominating society is strong enough to change the words and meaning of religion in order to lower the worth of women because they know that women are capable of a lot of things. Only the few educated men know the true meaning and worth of women. Many women in the third world islamic countries are suffering due to the male extremists. This torture needs to be stopped and only the one suffering can stop this by taking action towards it as a group. Islam is a religion that teaches us to love, respect and honor one another, but some people are lowering their own religion by acting in an illiterate manner and spreading wrong teachings. Before men treating another women badly, they should remember that they came from a mother's womb too and she was also a women.
