A successful film that I have chosen is ‘Galaxy Quest’. I think people would enjoy ‘Galaxy Quest’ film because it shows a way of life that is not possible and so that they could watch it and view how the world and way of life would turn out. The audience would enjoy the film ‘Galaxy Quest’ because it takes the mickey out of all the other science fiction films. This is called a satire film. ‘Galaxy Quest’ doesn’t make science fictions films look bad but shows the funnier side of science fiction films. For example, there is a character on the ship that is the captain’s side kick and he is an alien with special powers, where have we seen that before? It is copied from ‘Star Trek’ staring ‘William Shatner’. But in ‘Galaxy Quest’ the side kick hates his job, always taking orders from the captain, and doing as he is told. In most sci-fi films the people would talk to the ships computer and the computer would replay with the answers. But ‘Galaxy Quest’ when the computer replies a woman will repeat what the computer had just said. Even if the audience was not into sci-fi films they would still enjoy it because the cast are always falling over each other. The audience would laugh at the aliens as they would be ugly and have funny costumes and voices. Although trekies would get the jokes better than other people. Trekies means the people that are really into sci-fi programmes and would go to their shows. At the start of the film the cast don’t get along at all. They are always arguing with each other, they also start little fights with each other and watching them is quite funny. The target audience of this film would be any culture, boy or girl. The film is for any age as it is rated ‘PG’ by the filming board.
In my sci-fi movie there would be an alien race called ‘Species’. This race has advance technology, including spaceships, weapons and travel. My movie would be based on one of the thousand ship that the ‘Species’ have. The main job of the ship called the ‘Achilles’ was to go undetected into other alien races. The ship goes towards Earth and sees that Earth is under attack by a system lord and had been over thrown. The crew of the ship which include a captain called ‘Shakher’. He has a standard crew of beautiful and some what distracting crew of women, in short tight dresses. But the main women working on the bridge are ‘Kari Wurher’ 19, 5”6 blonde hair, who shoots all the weapons, ‘Athena Massey’ also 19, 5”6 dark brown hair who pilots the ship, ‘Aleksandra Kaniak’ 19, 5”6 black hair with a Russian act sent who scans the area for strange things. After ‘Shakher’ (the captain of the ship) working very hard and studying the humans finds out some thing very strange. The humans look a lot like the ‘Species’. After some long hours pumping information out of his crew ‘Shakher’ finds out that the humans are ancestors of the ‘Species’ race. So ‘Shakher’ sends information back to the headquarters of his race, ‘Shakher’ and his brave crew take it upon themselves to go and rescue the humans from extinction. Using his tactics ‘Shakher’ decides that they should all go down to Earth and try to make a rebellion against this new treat so that they could wait for some more back up and launch an attack from the ground and in space against the aliens. ‘Shakher’ didn’t know any information about this new race and captured one of the ships and studied their behaviour and the strengths and weaknesses. The re-invasion had been confirmed. ‘Shakher’ and his crew have to get to Earth un-detected and start up a rebellion strong enough for a space assault. But when ‘Shakher’ and his crew get to Earth to find that nearly all the humans have been executed by the aliens and the only people left were the women. The women were used as slaves by this new race which ‘Shakher’ found were called ‘Anti manism’. These new race were all green and ugly with slime dripping down their bodies. But the play still went ahead. But this would be hard as ‘Shakher’ was a man. One of the options were that ‘Shakher’ could dress up as a woman, but it was decide that ‘Shakher’ would stay underground and send his crew to get the women to come to the committee. When there were enough women ‘Shakher’ examined all the women one by one. After that the women were equipped with lasers and other fancy weapons. The date was set so the backup would launch an attack at the same time the rebellion. The aliens would then have to choose who to fight off, the space assault or the rebellion. The aliens decided to attack the space assault. They sent all their ships so that the rebellion could be a success and it was. The alien space attack didn’t have a chance against the mighty strength of the ‘Species’ and the aliens suffered heavy losses. After that ‘Shakher’ was left to repopulate Earth to how it once was.

The target audience of this film would be + boy or girl (although maybe more boys than girls, but then how could the girls resist the actor ‘Shakher’ and any culture.
Advertising/Promotion: To advertise my movie I would put posters and billboards up in heavy populated areas like Forest Gate and Camden Town and in shops like ‘Woolworths’ and other leading shops. I would put the billboards up were most of the traffic jams happen so that when the drivers have nothing to do they can read the billboards. I could have leaflets being handed out, near universities. Another option of advertising is to have an advert on the radio. There could be competitions were the first 100 callers to ring in with the right answers, get free tickets to watch the movie at their local cinema. There could be a movie trailer before other movies start and have them on the T.V channels telling them when it gets released. I would have stand up boards in the cinema advertising the forth come of the movie. Also get the ‘Movie Chart Show’ to rate my film. Another idea is to advertise the movie in magazines that people 18+ read.
Publicity: To publicise the film I would have a show on the television were I would interview the stars of the show. I would also get some famous magazines to review the film, and have some information about the film. There would be screen shots in the film.
