Planning and Evaluative Commentary Planning The aims of our product were to advertise and promote a new up and coming band as they planned to release their first single on a website about the band itself. This website is mainly aimed at teenagers and young adults, as they are the people who I thought would be most impressed by the style of music we were promoting, namely 'Nu-/heavy metal'. Before beginning the construction of the website I searched the internet for similar style websites by bands who perform music within the same genre as 'Vendetta'. These websites provided me with ideas about layout and extra features that websites about bands included: Profiles Guest book History of the band Song titles (with album cover) Pictures The basic idea of the layout and structure of the website came from this research. The three members of my group thought separately about ideas for the appearance of the website. It was a unanimous decision to keep the design simple, but we all still had a desire to make it striking by the style of font and writing, the way we used colour and the links. We all also decided that it would benefit the site to have pictures of the band, with their instruments, as it was thought that this would add to the realism of the website. Getting these photographs taken was the first stage of the website, and taken on digital camera, they were easy

Analyze the ways in which the makers of the 'Love In A Box Appeal', for the Samaritan's Purse, try to persuade their audience to support their case? How successful and acceptable do you feel this campaign to be?

G.C.S.E MEDIA COURSEWORK. Analyze the ways in which the makers of the 'Love In A Box Appeal', for the Samaritan's Purse, try to persuade their audience to support their case? How successful and acceptable do you feel this campaign to be? The Samaritan's Purse video is compiled of real and doctored footage trying to persuade people in developed countries, such as Great Britain, to donate a shoebox full of small gifts to their charity. We see the real footage in the bleakness of the area when the camera pans around in the opening shot and again later on when the coldness is shown by the snow when you see the correspondent at the location that the video's narrator is talking about (The Ukraine). The doctored footage is shown later on when the deprived children are shown, as these could be the minority of people who actually like their gifts or they may have even been actors. The bright colours used already enhance the feelings of joy at this moment, but I will go into further detail more later on in the essay. They will then distribute them to poor, underprivileged children at Christmas time. The regions in which the video is mainly filmed is in Eastern Europe, especially in the Ukraine, and another part (of shorter length), is filmed in Afghanistan. The reasons why people should donate their toys are made clear in the video, and that is that these children lead very hard

Social Effects Of ICT.

Social Effects Of ICT ICT has affected our lives both in the home and at work. I will be examining the advantages and disadvantages of ICT in out lives. Advantages at Home Computers have removed boring repetitive manual tasks in factories because robots are being used for more often. At home we are now able to access the Internet at the touch of a button, and communicate with friends, family, and even strangers the other side of the world and it is far cheaper. Tax returns can be filled in and sent off from your home with minimum effort. You can now do your banking online, and transfer money from account to account easily. Almost anything can be ordered from the Internet with ease, and can be delivered to your door the next day. Shopping can be ordered from supermarkets, and their home delivery services have proved very popular. Also many people use their credit cards and other such cards to do their shopping. They can do this because of the communications between the shops and banks that allows the shops to take money out of your bank remotely to pay for products you purchase. Mobile phones have also become immensely popular, and nearly everyone has one these days. Mobiles can now take the place of personal notebooks, and some phones even have the facility to send Emails to people via WAP, which stands for "Wireless Application Protocol". Pictures can also be sent

Gnvq media Unit 4 This investigation is about my progress so far and skills and information I have gained on the subject of media. In this course I have leart about vuideo cameras microphones and lighting. Im now more comfortable with using a camera as I have gained more experience with using a video camera as I have gained experiece with holding and recording shots. I have also had problems with the use of a microphone on a video camera as in one off the first video camera investigation I took part in was a videio alphbet which had vary poor sound because the distance of the subject from the microphone and also back ground noise from varies parts off the collage. Later I learnt that the distance between camera and subject must have a distance that works well with the particular microphone and that you must be aware off your surroundings. When using lighting while recording outside the only real sourse of light is the sun so for a good shot you would have to place the camera and the subjects inbest possession to get the best lighting. When using lighting indoors theres a lot more control for indoors you can use three -point lighting which involves a key light, filler and backlight. The key light is placed in front of the subject and is placed near the camera. The filler light is placed on the left side of the subjects face to cast the shadows the backlight Is placed on the

It is where buyers and seller come together and trade almost anything. Here is how eBay works: . There is a sellers list, with products ranging from cars to antiques, books to televisions. The seller chooses to accept only bids for the item or to offer a Buy It Now option. 2. In an online auction, bidding opens at a price in which the seller specifies and remains on eBay for a certain number of days. Buyers then place bids on the item. Comparisons between two teen websites

The comparisons between two teen websites For my media assignment I am comparing two teen websites for girls. The two websites are called www.mykindaplace.com and www.alloy.com. Both of these websites are jam packed with showbiz gossip, celebrity news and photographs. The stories and photographs are constantly updated to make sure that the websites are not behind on the gossip. There is a lot of competition from other teen website as they are all fighting to be number one! They are both very typical teen websites. I say this because they both have an extensively large section on today's fashion, shopping and horoscopes, and as we all know most of the female teen population is interested in fashion and shopping. Quizzes and trivia is one of my personal favourites on the alloy site. There is at least one new quiz each week and if you are part of their mailing list you get it sent to you as well as other promotional offers available from the site and its sponsors. The Mykindaplace site focus's more on real life stories rather than showbiz gossip. Although, it is still packed full of showbiz and celebrity stories similar to alloy. I think that it is a good idea to have real life stories as well as showbiz ones because I feel that the stories such as teen pregnancies are very informative and raise awareness. Both site are easy to use and easy to access. They are brightly

Analysis of Music Video

Andrew Proctor Analysis of Music Video Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy This Aphex Twin video is certainly one of the most dissimilar music videos that I have studied. It intertwines elements of different genres, to create a video so different to reality; it shocked the nation when released. The director, Chris Cunningham, wanted to make an impact with this video which he did with great style and distinction. Story/Narrative The video starts with quite a gentle and sombre feel to it, where you see an old woman walking her dog. The dog however is not the small, yappy dog you would expect a old lady to own. On the contrary, it is big and looks rather aggressive. This could be a subtle tie in with the rest of the video, as it reflects the nature of what is about to come. The old woman comes across an old, abandoned television set in the middle of a block of flats, which creates a scene of tension as the music in the background changes pace and pitch. The dog starts barking at the television, which is shown in a mixture of normal and slowed down time. You can tell that something is about to happen, as the mood has just completely changed. It went from peace and ambiance, to fast paced and heavy music. You then see a head appear in the television, which looks faintly human; just distorted. At the same time you are shown a group of young girls in another part of the town, however
