Macbeth - Tragic Hero?

Macbeth is one of Shakespeare's many tragic plays. Here a few of there names, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet and Othello. The main story line of these plays is someone who wants something or someone so bad that they will do anything to have it. The play would run through to the point when everything is going right until t reaches its highest point then everything go seems to go wrong.

This play was thought to be written for King James the 1st of England to please him and his Scottish nobles. King James was originally the king of Scotland so that was the reason that the play was thought to be wrote for him by Shakespeare. The reason that he was made king, was due to the death of queen Elizabeth became the king of England. That is why the play was based on a real person from Scotland in order to impress King James.

Macbeth, who is the thane of Glamis, is one of King Duncan most trusted companions and war captains. When a bleeding captain greets returning from a battle Duncan who tells the news of Macbeths Great War victory. Also the news of the traitor the thane of Cawdor helping the Norwegians in battle and how Macbeth, "Unseamed him from the nave to Th' chops".

Then as Macbeth, and his trusted friend Banquo follows. They meet three witches who prophesise that Macbeth is to be thane of Cawdor (which we already know so they could just pass on ...
