To what extent should schools be a threeway partnership between pupils, teachers and parents/carers?

Studies prove that when parents are involved in school, the children are the first ones to benefit.

I think that a three way partnership between parent, teachers and pupils is a must for effective learning.

Because parents are the primary educators of their children. It is therefore important to establish an active partnership between parents and the school. This partnership is based on respect and on the individual responsibilities of the partners.

The home School Partnership is a very important Partnership and can be reflected in informal as well as formal arrangements; to be successful they must be based on the willingness of teachers and parents to work together for the benefit of pupils.

It is important that meetings between pupils, parents and teachers provide regular accurate and up-to-date details about the child's achievements and progress and any problems the child has at appropriate intervals. It will provide a means by which parents can talk to teachers about any concerns they have about the education of their children.
