The Byzantine Empire was the source of huge legacy that still plays a great role in the life of all Europe and America. The religion, the principle of government was borrowed from these two greatest empires. Our language, our culture and many other significant things will always remind us about the grandeur of these two empires. After Byzantines and Romans fore a long time there was no visible power to bring up all the nations in Europe together. Lithuanian together with Swedes were fighting with Russia fore its enormous nature recourses. England and France were also rivals. Time passes but there was still no force to unite the countries. There were rather big countries and some small ones they were quarrelling and were at enmity with each other. England by the way was separated from the continent not only on territory but in minds as well. Because of it England was just protecting its territory. In the end it spread its influence across the ocean to the newly discovered lends in America, Australia and India. These countries that are independent now can be called the legacy of the English empire. However Franc on the contrary was eager to conquer Europe. The Napoleon epoch is a good example of it. After France came Dual Monarchy which aim was also to be the only ruler on the continent. Later the country has obtained a new name, and now it is known fore everyone as Germany. The important part of this empire's legacy is Art treasures and technological discoveries. Although we should not forget that Hitler Germany is the same legacy. We should bear it in mind not to have the same mistake again. At this time in Eastern Europe developed another powerful state - Russia or USSR after 1917. It was one of the mightiest states and the influence of it was rather significant. Now we cane evaluate the vast legacy positive and negative. Chernobyl is one example of it as well as Chechnya, Afghanistan and many other hot points. This is only quick analysis of what the legacy is. In conclusion I would like to add that we should non examine the legacy of separated empires because all our history is a mix of new empires and the legacy of the previous.
