Mission Statement & Vision Statement

Describe and explain key differences between your Mission Statement and Vision Statement (Strategy LO1) Before I can explain the key differences between my Mission Statement and Vision statement I must first create them. Before I do this though, I would like to provide a definition of what each of these mean. I will also go into some detail about some of the differences between a mission and vision statement. This will give me a better understanding of what a mission and vision statement is and give me a better idea of how to write mine for my business. Mission Statement A definition that I particularly like comes from www.missionstatements.com which defines a mission statement as: "A mission statement defines in a paragraph or so any entity's reason for existence. It embodies its philosophies, goals, ambitions and mores. Any entity that attempts to operate without a mission statement runs the risk of wandering through the world without having the ability to verify that it is on its intended course." To break this down into my own definition we could say that a mission statement is what the business aims to achieve, a mission statement defines the core purpose of an organization, why it exists, and reflects employees' motivations for engaging in the company's work. Effective mission statements are inspirational and easy to understand. Vision Statement A vision

McDonalds ICT Mission Statement.

Unit 2: ICT. Mission Statements McDonalds. For McDonald's to achieve our goal of being the world's best quick service restaurant experience, we must have the best experience for all McDonald's employees. So we formalized our beliefs into our People Vision and our People Promise. Our People Promise is how we remind our people what they can expect and how high our goal is: To be the best employer in each community around the world. Comments: McDonalds express what the aim to do form the public in their mission statement. They also make a promise to their employees to boost the confidence of the public in the McDonalds employees. The statement doesn't involve any promises about the quality of their food, which I feel is very disappointing, and should be included. It's very brief and inconclusive about many issues so I believe McDonalds mission statement should be improved. BBC. The BBC is run in the interests of its viewers and listeners. Mission Statement, Aims and Objectives of Ikea.

CHAPTER ONE: Mission Statement, Aims and Objectives Mission Statement A mission statement is also known as vision, and states the main purpose of a business, such as satisfying its customer's needs. A mission statement shows stakeholders both within and outside the organisation, and what its core values are. A business produces the statement, when it has decided on what product or service to offer to its customers. This is important step, as it describes the kind of business you plan to be. For example, Microsoft's mission is, 'taking the Internet, combining it with great software and turning them into the most powerful tool of all time'. This tells me that everyone in the company is involved with computers and software development. The IKEA vision is 'To create a better everyday life for the majority of people'. This tells me that IKEA responds to the home furnishing needs of people, across the world. This means providing more service to the people. IKEA has a restaurant to encourage customers to stay in the store so they can spend more such as, foods and drinks. IKEA has a children play area, to provide amusement to the children. IKEA's business idea is 'We shall offer a wide range of well-designed, functional furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible, will able to afford them'. This can be reducing all prices permanently. The Human

Mission statements, Company aims and objectives A mission statement is created by a company and it shows the companies overall goal

Mission statements, Company aims and objectives A mission statement is created by a company and it shows the companies overall goal. To achieve the goal the company sets itself aims. The aims a company sets are long-term goals they want to achieve. Once they achieve an aim then the company would want to remain at that aim. For example Safeway have an aim to be the best at availability. Once Safeway are best at availability then they would want to remain the best at availability. An objective is a short-term goal that company wants to achieve. Good objectives should follow the SMART system. All objectives should be... * Specific - objectives must be clearly outlined * Measurable - the objective must have some way that it can be measured * Agreed - all parties who are affected by the decision must agree on the objective. * Realistic - the objective has to be possible * Time - the time-frame in which the objective has to be completed If an objective follows SMART system it should be achievable. Below are the mission statements of four companies. Safeway The Safeway mission statement is: "Our goal is to be the first choice for those customers who have the opportunity to shop locally in a Safeway store." To achieve this goal Safeway's aims are to be: * Best at fresh * Best at availability * Best at customer service * Best at product and price These aims

ME's Mission and Values

ME's New Vision and Mission Statements Kelly Moore Colorado Technical University Managing Service Operations MGM646-0904B-01 Reginald Doctor November 25, 2009 ME's New Vision and Mission Statements ME has suffered some trouble spots due to the expansion of its company. The operations segment has been hit the worst; therefore it is important to come up with a new vision and mission statement to guide ME under their current and projected environments. The vision statement projects the idea of what ME, as a company, aims to achieve, whether it be over the next two, five or even ten years that they are in business. While the mission statement spells out the vision and values, it expands on how they intend to accomplish that vision by setting guidelines for the company to follow. Finally, it will be important to wrap it up by evaluating the operational objectives for the company and develop a plan for implementation. Mission Statement "Writing an effective, engaging, and clearly defined mission statement is the best way to announce your company's goals to customers, clients, investors, and even employees" (AllBusiness, 1999-2009, p. 1). The mission statement will help the customers, employees, investors, and clients understand the goals of the company, as well as have a better understanding of why they are in business and where they intend to go as a company. ME's main

America's Mission

America's Mission In order to understand what America's mission is today, we must first examine her past. America's mission began with the Puritans. However, it has changed dramatically over the course of history and many lives have been sacrificed for the mission, furthermore, the mission has and will continue to change over the course of time. The Puritans came to the New World during the 1700's and used the bible to gain land and wealth. They felt that it was their God-given duty to bring civilization to the new world, and to make the land prosperous. These hypocritical people would accomplish this with only two tools, their bibles, and their guns. They stole land from people whom they labeled as "wild men". Of course, these men (indigenous people) were wild to them because the Puritans had never seen people living off the land. The Native American's way of life did not coincide with the European-American's way of life; therefore, the Native Americans were forced to conform to the European-American's way of life. Nevertheless, not all Puritans were alike. For example, Puritans such as Thomas Morton wanted to share the land and wealth with the Native Americans. Morton also wanted whites and Native Americans to share their lives to the point of intermarrying. However, his vision would never come to pass because Puritans like him were silenced. With Puritans like

'Mission Impossible 2'.

'Mission Impossible 2' is a follow on from the first, but this sequel doesn't fulfil all of my expectations. This film seems to be a typical action film, as this film and others like it tend to finish the same were the hero gets his girl. I feel that a good action film should have lots of action and unpredictability. This film doesn't have a lot of action; its action comes in small dosages, which I feel disrupts the flow the film. Ethan Hunt (IMF Agent) has been sent to retrieve and destroy a deadly virus known as 'Chimera'. His mission soon becomes impossible as a local terrorist force lead by a former IMF Agent, Sean Ambrose want this virus to use against their country. This terrorist force already has the antidote 'Bellerophon' but they need the 'Chimera' to complete the set and to gain momentum and then soon hold the world to ransom. Ethan relies on international thief 'Nyah Hall' to locate and infiltrate this terrorist force. Time begins to run out for 'Agent Hunt' as he needs to recover the virus 'Chimera' and locate and retrieve the 'Bellerophon'. Ethan becomes under more and more pressure as his new love Nyah injects herself with the deadly virus in order to save Ethan, Now Ethan has only 20 hours to recover the antidote and cure Nyah of the virus. If Nyah were not to receive the cure within 20 hours of injection she would become subject to a painful and rapid

Mission impossible analysis

Mission impossible analysis The film 'Mission impossible', directed by Brian De Palma, was released in 2001 staring the likes of Tom Cruise, Jon Voight and Emmanuelle Beart. It is and action-thriller, based on the story of an American agent, who, under false suspicion of disloyalty, must discover and expose the real spy without the help of his organisation. The film stars Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt (protagonist), part of a crack squad of intelligence operatives, based upon the 1960's T.V series. It incorporates vast amounts of action within a complex and clever storyline. The films target audience would most probably be younger people (13-26) or people with a modern lifestyle as the film's content is fast and exciting, as well as being technologically advanced. The film's certification of P.G. also effects this audience bracket as the younger viewers must be considered. The film begins with a title sequence consisting of all the main characters, shots of a burning fuse which represents a lack of time in conjunction with the theme of the film and a selection of intriguing action shots extracted from the film. The opening scene of the film directly evolves you as the audience in a current mission of the secret organisation in which a victim is being lured into a fake situation and then drugged by the operatives. This enables the viewers to be instantly part of the action of the
