Website Design - Design Write Up

Design Write Up * Now you must describe your Spreadsheet design * What criteria did you have to meet? - See: My Comp - Shared on Maggie - ICT Students - 04 Year 10 - Spreadsheet - Analysis Answers * What design choices have you made? * Describe your Hand Drawn Design * Will Karen be happy with your design? My spreadsheet design looks very simple but it has all the information which needs to be on the website. I have used a profession background as this is what Karen wanted. The font which I have used is 'Arial' which is size 12. I have included certain pictures of the sandwiches as this is what Karen wanted me to do. I have also included various pictures of the sandwiches which need to be on the homepage. There was a criterion which stated various things such as how many pages there should be where the address is and also where the pictures should be kept. My design is very professional and I have used a colour scheme which mainly consists of the colour grey. I have put in a background which is grey and also makes the page look more professional. I have decided that my page should be as simple a possible mainly because people will find it easier to read and also because the page will attract more people as it will be more simpler and people of all abilities wont have any trouble finding their way around it. There are 3 pages altogether which means that there should be

Three Customer Service Statements.

I.C.T Task 2 Three Customer Service Statements In this report I would be comparing and contrasting three customer service statements from three different organisations. I would be explaining how the customer service statement are laid out, how it's presented and explain what they are talking about briefly. The three companies that I will be explaining about are Melcourt, GMOCN (Greater Manchester Open College Network) and IQA Education. Statement 1 My first statement is IQA Education; the way this statement is presented is by having six paragraphs using up two pages. The "IQA Education" is presented by having it located at the top of the statement in a rectangle box that goes across the top half page with the end of the rectangle (right hand side) fading out and in the left hand side the title is located in the middle, written in white because the box is black so the white writing would stand out. In big bold lettering is "Customer Service Statement" which dose stand out quite a bit. Under that heading is two paragraphs, first paragraph has five lines explaining briefly of who they are as a company and the second paragraph has four lines but what I thought that was so interesting about this paragraph is that it says "if you wish to comment on this statement offered by IQA Education department" this is one very good way to make the readers think that the company is

The research that I collected for this Graphics Page consisted of cut-outs of various tennis merchandise from magazines and catalogues and printed images from the internet of similar products to what I will be making and learning from.

Research Analysis and Specification. Research - Moodboard. The research that I collected for this Graphics Page consisted of cut-outs of various tennis merchandise from magazines and catalogues and printed images from the internet of similar products to what I will be making and learning from. Also there will be various fabrics, colour patterns and poster cutouts relevant to the practical making of my graphics project, for the poster promotion of the tennis stadium and the key ring for example. I did this imagery research and glued them all over the sheet, as I believed they would be necessary and useful in giving me an indication of what these products that I will be making myself look like and feel like in real life. I.e.) Size, shape, colour, texture, fabrics used, detail, complexity, etc... so therefore it was important in giving me an indication of what is involved in making these products and what I would probably have to consider. It is relevant to my project as the images are of objects and items that I will either be making or using to help me for certain aspects of my project. For example, either understanding how to make my products and what will be needed, or what I need to understand and consider in creating my graphics page, such as 'existing products research' and 'logo and lettering styles'. It sets up the rest of the project in order for me to complete the

Evaluation of 3D paper engineering project

Evaluation of 3D paper engineering project We were very effective at managing the time that was provided. We finished our final products with plenty of time left before the deadline. This allowed us to make sure we had finished everything we were supposed to and create exploded drawings of every mechanism. We used each member in a different way. Ollie created the mechanisms for the birthday card, and coloured them in, Jonny did a lot of colouring as well and the writing, and Adam did all of the computer work. We have learnt how to make paper springs, and other mechanisms including the birthday box. We have honed our skills at cutting, colouring, mechanism construction, and accurate paper measuring. Our final products, were 4 cards, which each had a separate paper engineering mechanism in them. They were made out of card and paper, as well as plastic and thick card. All of the cards worked in the end, although we had to make some adjustments in the construction process. I wouldn't hire the company, because the quality is not good enough to be in shops. This is because the colouring in was done with pencils, and it didn't look as professional as printing. But apart from that, I think I would hire our company. To mass-produce our products, we would be able to produce most of the parts on the computer, and print lots of them out, but a lot of the construction would have to

I have designed a logo that can be used so Cogan Coronation club can be easily recognised, but also to portray the club as a professional, efficient organisation. The logo can be used on documents and in advertising etc., as people will see it and it will become familiar to it, hence, providing a better image of the club. My initial ideas have developed and changed through the course of designing the logo; therefore I have shown the progression by doing three drafts of the badge. DRAFT ONE: I began designing my logo by firstly researching and browsing for appropriate pictures that relate to the club and could be used to create a badge. The first draft contains a picture of a football with a map of Wales that has been placed on it, which have been collected from the Internet. I chose these pictures because the football relates to the type of club that Cogan is and the map of Wales relates to the Country. I then placed a piece of 'word art' into the badge, which stated the name of the club and what type of club it was: Cogan Coronation AFC (Athletic Football Club). I chose a font style that would be clear and fitted the writing around the edge of the football in an arched/curved shape. I thought the logo was lacking something so I put another piece of 'word art' onto the football stating when the club was established (1960) and finished it off with two small 'clipart'

The task is to create a logo that can promote the video shop, and be put on all to do with the video shop like letters. My logo should be simple but effective, and not to cheesy. It should catch people's eye, and make them want to read on. I will try to do this with colour and pictures. Software Requirements The software I choose must be able to: * Import pictures, so that I can actually create the logo. * Move and edit pictures, so that the logo can be tweaked, and the pictures do not stay as their original. * Input text, so that the logo has text as well as pictures and so the name "Mercury Entertainment" can be on the logo. * Shade pictures, so that I can make the logo look and have a professional feel. * Overlap and underlay objects, again to create a stylish look, and make the logo look the best it can. * Change the text colour, font, and size, so that I do not have to keep boring Arial text, and can make a good logo. * Convert to pictures, so that I can save the copy as a jpeg file, to save space and time loading the original file, and then copying it from there. I could produce the logo using a word processor. This is a limited, but simple way of doing the logo. It can do everything above, apart from edit pictures in the way that other programs can do. It can wrap text, and edit the brightness, but it cannot edit pictures in the most expert technique

Work Experience

Research and Planning Logo design is a company that has been working for 30 years; I have chosen this work experience placement because I am interested in working in the graphic design industry when older. In the process of choosing this placement I have not rejected any other placements because the manager of Logo Design and Marketing is a friend. Whilst doing the work experience I will be working with a team of other people in an office and working closely to the other employees. The employees in the office I will be working in range from age nineteen and upwards. The manager and manageress also work onsite along with their employees. From the work experience placement I have been given I am hoping to achieve the knowledge and understanding of the job, a graphic designer. I am hoping to realise out of the work experience if I want to route my career towards a graphic designer. To complete the work I am going to listen to the employer so that he can give me hints and tips about work. I will give good impressions to the employer so that he could give me more complex tasks other than photocopying and making tea and coffee. I have devised a timeline of events that I will be writing in the orange booklet as the week progresses. The Activity During the one week placement (starting 2nd July 2007) I went to Logo Design and marketing. At the placement I was told to make a
