How OCD affects lives

Have you ever seen a tv show, “Glee”? So, in this tv show there is a character, Emma Pillsburry. Emma Pillsburry is a teacher character in Mckinley high, who are experiencing OCD.  There is this one time that she felt the need to clean a bench using a brush repeatedly before sitting on it.

OCD or Obsessive-Compulsive disorder is a disorder where the sufferer has unwanted and repeated thought or obsession, and feels the need to do something repeatedly in order to push away these thoughts. These behaviors of repeated habits are called compulsion. This is obviously why this anxiety disorder is called Obsessive-Compulsive disorder.

In America around 2.2 million of Americans are affected by Obsessive- Compulsive disorder.  Most of OCD sufferer in America after being researched said that they can’t resist their needs of doing something repeatedly, even though they know that what they are doing doesn’t make any sense.

Next, I am going to tell the audience an example of what’s happening in OCD sufferer’s mind.
