Database Report

In this report I will show how I created my own database so you can also create your own database following these simple steps that I will guide you through. How to set a Drop down list: How to set the primary key: How to set the Input Masks: How to set the Data Validation: Relationship: I have completed my tables now I need to make a relationship between them, we use relationships to link tables. This is done so that the details in the table can easily link up. The purpose of a Relationships The purpose of a relationship is to link tables together by a specific filed that consists in both tables. I linked the "Costumers Details" table with the "Lending Details" by the "Account no". This is called a one too many relationships because there could be only one "Account no" in the "Costumers Details" table per costumer but in the "Lending Details" table the same person can take as many loans as they like. I linked the other two tables by the "Loan ID" this was also a one to many relationship because each loan in the "Loans Available" table can have only contain one "Loan ID" while the "Lending Details" table can have several; this is because many people may open the same type of loan which contains its ID number. Forms: Queries and Reports: Simple Queries: Finding the customer with the "Account number" 1: Finding the customers with an Occupation: Finding the

Introduction I have chosen to do a report on the effect on schools and colleges. I chose this topic because I attend school every day and I can find out a lot about schools. I can also find out about the use of ICT in colleges because my mother works at a college. I will be able to find out information to include from many sources. I think finding out about the development of ICT is very interesting and I can compare the ICT facilities. I will also be able to find out information about how ICT is used in schools. To do this I am going to use a range of sources, for example, books, the Internet and people. How has ICT changed over the last 30

Advantages and Disadvantages of ICT

Advantages and Disadvantages of ICT Advantages ICT is the way of the future and because of this it is obviously a great benefit to us otherwise it would not be such a big thing. For this type of system it is especially beneficial because once the main system is created, in this case the e-ticket and invoice, it is possible to save them and then reuse the template again and again. This can be done by saving the original blank e-ticket and then linking it with the database and merging the data across so that an e-ticket can be printed with relevant information on it. The database can be changed easily and quickly by adding, removing and changing information as needed. There is no need to start writing out a whole new ticket when someone books a flight or calculate manually how much they still have to pay. Due to this there is no need for a rubber or correction fluid if staff make mistakes or want to delete sets pieces of information. Using ICT means that when I was creating the system I could test my designing using different fonts, page layouts and colours without worrying that it was going to take a long time - it wasn't. Also with the use of ICT I am ensured that my grammar and spelling will be accurate because I can use the checkers. In the spreadsheet I can use formulas that will do all calculations for me. So there is no need to go through each customer and find how

Outlin of an ICT project for a hairdressing business.

ICT Coursework- Mrs Muman The Hair Studio has recently opened in the local Sutton Coldfield neighbour hood. The Salon has been open for the past 6 months. This new Hair salon has a variety of products that it sells, such as hair and care product to enhance the hair and improve it also it has a selection of professionals that cut and do re-styling of the hair. The salon has been experiencing many problems in the past couple of months since it has opened. All the customer details have been stored in filing cabinets. The disadvantages of having the information of the customers stored in filing cabinets are that the cabinets take up space and too much room of the salon which may cause some inconvenience. There is also a probability that some of the customer details could get misplaced of even lost therefore this could lead to customer complaints. The reputation of the salon could lessen and this will affect the company sales and income. The hair salon is not efficient enough because other problems could occur such as double bookings this would cause confusion for the salon. The salon needs to advertise their business since it is new to the local area and they could do this by putting up poster and other methods such as making leaflets. The opening hours of the shop should be put on the salon door so the people are aware of the opening hours of the hair salon. I am an ICT

ICT Specification for a spreadsheet for the Hairdressing business.

ICT Task 2 - Mrs Muman Evaluation My specification Points The specification points are very useful because they are like a shopping list and help us to make sure we follow a list of requirements that are important in order for us to ensure that the system that we will create will be able to do certain things in the list below. To have a list of specification points so that when it comes to planning and creating the spreadsheet it will be much easier for us. The list below is extra support and a helpful list to guiding me when I create the spreadsheet for the Hairdressing business. . Allows creating a booking system for example an easy way to organise all the clients in a useful way for example in alphabetical order. The booking system is able to store and organise the clients details in alphabetical order this can be done by left clicking ascending order. . The system should be allowed to create queries such as multiple criteria or simple search criteria search. To help find for only certain clients that I need to find for example if I there is a discount on women’s haircuts so then I will need to identify only females in the system. Queries can be made on the system for example multiple or simple searches. This will help to identify the people that are only needed to find. . I will have a validation rule to minimise errors in the database. E.g. presence check or

Safe working pratices when using ICT in a business environment

Safe working practices when using ICT in a business environment Measures to protect health Poor health can result in inefficiency in work so it is important to be as healthy as possible while in a business environment. There are several measures you could take to ensure that your health is protected when in a business environment. Measures such as: . Taking regular breaks 2. Using ergonomic equipment 3. Having proper posture and positioning 4. Taking care of your eyes Taking regular breaks: You can harm your eyes and get repetitive strain injury if you continuously do the same work. To avert this take regular five minute breaks for example, walk around, stretch your arms and legs and exercise you fingers and hands to help reduce health risks. This will stop repetitive strain disorder which can happen when using the same muscle repetitively. It will moreover help your eyes and keep them healthy. Using ergonomic equipment: Aches and pains can be suffered as a result of nothing using the right equipment suitable to the office place. Chairs are a good example of this; they may be the wrong height for the user and be positioned in ways that do not support the user when they are sitting upright and facing forward. Use of ergonomic equipment can be useful in this instance - the specially designed furniture can help reduce health risks in the work place. Having proper

Using Technology - GPS in vehicles.

Ines Chan 12ASD ICT MC Technology on multi-vehicles The technology on multi-vehicles has changed a lot since the 90’s. Although this leads to human a huge help for transportation, there are still pros and cons on this stage. Just like how GPS satellites work. On the one hand, there are quite a lot of pros. Let say the taxis and some cars, they all have GPS/GPRS machines on their vehicles. GPS is a mini electrical version of the ordinary maps. It could be called as GPS satellites when we use it for location locator on our phones as well. Back to the main point, GPS has already replaced the ordinary paper maps people have used before. This avoids finding maps in a middle of your driving, opening up (unfolding) massive maps since the GPS machine is already settle down in front of you. It helps people a lot when they cannot remember how to get to their destination as well. This is very efficient to people who often travel. In addition, what people like about GPS or why people use GPS instead of an ordinary map are, all the GPS machines have sound, image, video and text! This is how data is conveyed. Sound is to draw our attention to the map by means of a sound. Image is a visual representation of the route. Video is to convey a moving image, for example, showing us should we turn left or right when we head to a diverge road. This is always useful when people who have not been

The impact of ICT on an adult in employment

The Impact of ICT on an adult in Employment including the effect on his/her working style Rapid changes in information and communication technology (ICT) over the last decades have had a radical impact on how today's organisations work, cooperate and compete. Information systems, Telecommunication and the Internet challenge the thinking on organisational structures and industry boundaries and fuel the debate on globalisation. The growth and subsequent burst of the dot-com bubble demonstrates how firms continue to struggle how to best take advantage of the new technological possibilities. This underlines the importance of ICT as a Business Process Innovation, ICT Strategy and Planning, Process Integration and Project Management, ICT Infrastructure and a capstone integration course. Overall ICT is seen as a benefit to the individual particularly in the business environment, however the rapid uptake of the Internet, of mobile telephony and of broadband networks all demonstrate how this technology has begun to invade all of our lives. It is true to say that because Companies and Firms have to maintain a competitive edge they will invest more and more money into ICT as it is seen as an easy way to expand and control business. The true social impact of this is never fully considered. A good example of this is the use of mobile phones. These are probably today one of the most
