An example of indirect discrimination is requiring all people who apply for a certain job to sit a test in a particular language, even though that language is not necessary for the job. The test might exclude more people who have a different mother tongue.

Prejudice
Prejudice is to prejudge a person without examining the facts fairly. A person can be prejudge against a group of people because they are different.
Age
People are discriminate because of their age.
For example elderly people are discriminate because everybody thing that elderly people are forgetful so this leads to lower self esteem and lack of confidence and don’t want to go out and this also lead to lack of socialization so it is very important that people are not discriminate because of their age difference.
Religion
People are discriminated because of their religion difference and their beliefs. It can lead to feeling unworthy, depression, and withdrawal from other people and lower self esteem.
Care worker may prejudge people for example if a health care worker believes that all Asians are vegetarian and they may not offer an Asian service user the full range of available menus. Once people develop prejudices against groups of people then they are likely to discriminate.
Disability
Sometimes people are discriminate and this lead to lower self and negative self concept and it make them upset and make their life difficult.
For example- an employer refuses to employ someone even though they are
suitable for the job, simply because they are a wheelchair user. This is direct disability discrimination and makes them feel unworthy and lower their self esteem. We make sure that people are not discriminate because of disability.
Language:
Language discrimination occurs when a person is treated differently because of that person‘s native language or other characteristic of that person speech. This can lead to lower their self esteem and make them feel that they are not valuable.
For example: Employ may be subjected to language discrimination if the workplace has a policy to speak English only but the employer language is something other than English. The employer may also be victim of language discrimination if he/she is treated worse than others employees because he/she speaks English with a different accent or may not qualify for a job because of lack of English proficiency.
