Design Having completed my identify and analysis I now need to start to design what the presentation will actually look like. I have decided to do three initial design ideas, all different from each other and then ask the English rep which one he prefers and if there are any other things he would like included. Below are my three initial design ideas: Idea 1 Idea 2 Idea 3 After designing these three initila ideas I e-mialed them to the enhlish rep and asked for his feedback on the designs, and which one he would prefer me to develop. He said: " Unfortunately I don't like the first design, the colours don't look good together and are not evry good on the eye. I also don't like the whole border as I feel it reduces the amount of space to display information. I don't think this is a good design." "However the second design is a lot more attractive, it is simple but also looks good. I like the half border as it gives it a proffesional look. I also like the way that information can be displeyed. The blue and white colours are also suitable." " The third design is also nice and I like the effects of the background colours, howvere I feel it is a little bare and I would prefer it if there was a border as it gives itn a better look. I also feel that this restiricts there to only being one way of presenting the information which may not be suitable. He also said: " Overall I

Toy project DT

Toys are described as playthings for the use of children, normally a toy is to provide entertainment and education. It is widely believed that toys influence the emotional, social, mental and the physical development of children. They play a great part to the early years of a person's life: to occupy and to teach. So it is important what toys children play with and the quality of them. For many centuries children have been interested in toys. Prehistoric toys must have existed because children and adults have used their imagination to create toys out of any materials. Objects have survived which have been made out of terracotta are expected to be around 3000 years old. These were made in the Mediterranean and the Near East, and were models of animals and some pull along toys on wheels. It has been proven that Egyptians, Romans and Greeks have mad toy for children these include dolls, terracotta animals with moving parts or wheels, Egyptian wooden figure of a man games with dice, marbles and counters, hoops, yo-yos kneading dough and knucklebones. Toys such as animal figures, balls, spinning tops and toys with simple mechanisms are found in most cultures in the world. Many toys have a simple movement within the toy. Among them are jointed figures sent into acrobatic antics by pressure or torsion, devices activated by swinging

Production of Documents.

Production of Documents VGCSE Assignment Production of Letterhead 3 Software Used 3 How was it created 3 Sources of information 4 Fit for purpose 4 Production of invoice 4 Software Used 5 How was it created 5 Sources of information 5 Production of Letterhead After I had analysed my business documents I produced my own Letterhead considering everything I had analysed, we first made a rough copy then went over this, noticed our weaknesses and worked on these points. Software Used First I created my letterhead in a Desk Top publisher and saved this so I could use it as a template. I then wrote up the letter in a word processor, which I was going to use on this for an example and created margins as to where the letterhead was placed. I then could print off this letter over the top of the template to complete my document. I created the Logo in paint, but I got the picture from the clip art gallery, I added it to my template once I had completed the whole logo. How was it created I firstly put in my logo, and then added in the slogan later. I looked at this in a range of ways, including having the logo on the right, and also having the slogan below the logo, but my final decision was how it is seen above. I then put in my footer, which I filled green to make it look more catchy, I then decided what information to put in the footer. Seen as I didn't have a proper

Graphic Design : Producing a Graphic Product

Graphic Design : Producing a Graphic Product Intro I am a graphic designer and in this case study I am going to describe and explain the processes involved when a client asks me to mass-produce a graphic product. During the case study I will be covering the following topics: * One off, batch and mass production * Cost and availability of materials * Systems and control (example: lithography) * Cost of systems * Input-process-output * Quality control One-off If I was to design and make a one-off graphic product, such as a special 100th birthday card for the pope: Labour: Designing- no. of hours x hourly rate. E.g. If it took me 2 hours to design and make card and I was paid £20 an hour, 2 x 20 = £20 Materials: Paper, ink, embossing etc. E.g. £4 Sundries: Phone calls, faxes, postal costs, etc. £1 Total cost - £25 Cost per unit - £25 Batch For example, if I was making a batch of 25 'Good luck' cards for the British Olympic swimming squad. Labour: Designing, no. of hours x hourly rate E.g. 2 x £20 = £20 Materials: Coloured paper, ink, etc.£6 Sundries: Phone calls, faxes, postal costs E.g. £4 Digital Photocopying: 25 items x 10p = £2.50 Total - £32.50 Cost per unit - £1.50 Mass For example, if I mass-produced 100,000 Easter cards for Bastins: Labour: Designing. Evaluation for cake bases

Evaluation In this project my aim was to produce a gift cake that could be mass produced and sold in a supermarket, in order to do this I had to research novelty cakes that are currently been sold in supermarkets. From the research I found that the target audience were usually children and occasionally adults. The most commonly used cake base was Madeira sponge, and buttercream and jam where used as an adhesive. I also found that the cake shapes were usually simple shapes e.g. circular, square, and rectangular. The novelty cakes were mainly covered and decorated in fondant icing. Serving size for the gift cakes were normally 12 servings. The information I collected helped me to produce my gift cake because it gave me a guideline and indication of what my gift cake should be similar to. In class we then researched different cake bases, so we could find the best to fit our needs, in the test the Madeira sponge best fit our requirements because it was the strongest base out of the ones we tested, it also had the longest shelf life. The flavour and texture of the cake were appropriate for my cake base. From the research above I wrote a design specification stating what my cake should be similar to. In my design specification I decided my cake to be a Christmas theme; I chose to target my novelty cake at children. The decoration on my novelty cake was based on flat relief

Web Design Business Plan Business Studies Business Plan (GCSE) Aims and Objectives: Aims - It is my aim to make a profit out of designing and producing websites. I also hope that my web design business shall grow and expand so that I design a variety of websites. My final aim is for the business to survive, as the costs for a web design business are very low I consider it highly unlikely that this aim will be difficult to achieve. Objectives - To make high quality and affordable websites. It would be extremely unrealistic to have a high market share as an objective when there are hundreds if not thousands of companies designing websites but I do aim to produce at least two high quality websites. Marketing & Production Plan I plan to produce e-commerce websites (online shop). A typical price for such a website is £100 including website hosting and a domain name. I plan to charge £30 because unlike professional companies I do not have the facilities to offer services such as 24/7 customer care and hosting. I will just design the websites and shall not offer extra services. I do not aim to be competing with large firms offering web design, instead I shall be competing with other people who design websites and sell them on listing services such as eBay and Yalgo.com. Having recently looked through these two websites I have noticed that nobody else is offering web design

Having established that the best medium to advertise and raise awareness of my mother's salon is a leaflet. I decided to carry out a questionnaire and an interview for my research method due to the fact that I believe that these two options would provide me with the best possible understanding of where I should be heading in order to design and make this artefact. I conducted a one to one interview with my mother because she is the owner of the company and I needed to find out how she wants her business to be publicised. This would enable me to ask in depth questions, which I could set as criteria for the leaflet. I designed a set of 18 questions that inquired her about the layout, size, style, material and the specific purposes she wanted the upcoming leaflet to serve. I also produced different samples of font, colour scheme and a rage of graphics for the interview, which helped to gain a clearer understanding of her needs. From the sample, she selected a fresh colour scheme, which consisted of different shades of blue. This complemented with the result of the questionnaire I carried out because 86% of the people preferred blue over the other options I presented. She also wanted the name of the salon in untailored, casual style (Magneto, Ravie) to contrast with a professional font, which was used for the price listing (Times New Roman, Century). Lastly she
