I will do this programme for 6 weeks, training 3-5 times a week. My goals are; . to improve my overall game play of badminton 2. to gain a high accuracy level with the element of power 3. to gain a much higher endurance around the court . I have not played badminton at a higher level such as with a club, I have only played the game in physical education lessons and considering my lack of playing the sport, I am quite decent. I have come to realize I can be good at this sport and so I will see how I will improve and test if I can become a good badminton player. 2. Whilst playing badminton during my physical education lessons I realized that I had little power and not much accuracy. I was quick around the court and this came as an advantage to me as this helped me beat a few opponents. My serves were below average in my group and so I will train upon these elements largely as they are the very important

The MSF test did test my cardiovascular fitness but not very well. This is because it is a running test. Water polo is played in the water so it was not very specific. Again the 30m sprint only tested my running speed and not my speed in the water. Other tests such as with the sit and reach, sit-ups and pull ups were of most relevance to me because sit ups and pull ups tested my muscular endurance. The sit and reach test tested my bodies flexibility. The vertical jump was relevant because it tested the

a training programme aiming to improve my fitness levels in order to improve my performance in a game of football.

Introduction I am going to create a training programme aiming to improve my fitness levels in order to improve my performance in a game of football. The plan must be specific to me. I must analyse my performance so that I can identify my weaknesses. This will help me to set targets which I want to reach whilst carrying out my plan. I am 15 years old and it is very important that the programme is designed for the correct age category. Young people may not be fully developed and could therefore injure their bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons. I am quite an active person as I enjoy taking part in many different sports. I can cope with my daily demands and so I am generally fit. I am in good health which means I am in a complete state of physical, mental and social well being. This helps to prevent me against accidents, heart disease, stress, muscle injury and other health problems. I am generally fit to cope with the following demands of everyday life: * Over a 2 week cycle, I do 5 hours of practical PE lessons * After school on Wednesday, I do football practise for 1 hour. * On Wednesday evening I do football training for 2 hours for my local team. * On Thursday evening I play football leisurely in the Soccer Dome for 1 hour with my friends. * On Saturday's I play for my football team in a competitive match, which lasts 90 minutes. * I am a member of the

P.E.P The sport that I am going to do my P.E.P (personal exercise programme) is football.

Personal Exercise Programme Section 1 ~ Aims Personal Profile The sport that I am going to do my P.E.P (personal exercise programme) is football. I have been playing football for around 9 years. Before this season I played for a Sunday league team called Fleur de lys. I played for these for 6 years until the manager last season until the manager decided we should split. In my time at the club we got promoted twice, won three tournaments and the Portsmouth Cup once. During this time I also played for our school team. This season I have signed on for Portchester FC. We are currently in the Hampshire league and doing well. Hampshire league is a big step up from Sunday league football and the quality and pace is to a far better standard. I train once a week for Portchester, play 5-a-side every Thursday and have a 90 minute match every Sunday. In training normally do two different sections. It compromises of fitness and skill/match play. For the first half an hour, we warm up, go on jogs, fartlek training, running in and out of cones, etc. The second half we do dribbling or other ball skills, shooting practise, one-on-one, set-piece practise or a 5-a-side match. Aims I play 'right wing back' and the general qualities for this position include strength, speed, good awareness, aerial ability and cardiovascular endurance. I am at the autonomous stage of my game as i think I

Personal Exercise Programme

Personal Exercise Programme By Hannah Thake 714 PE course profile The sport that I wish to train for during this time is the 100 metre sprint. I gave up this sport 3 years ago due to an injury and never got round to going back. I am currently 17 years old at 1.7m, I am between an endomorph and metamorph in build, and I wish to replace fat with muscle to balance body composition. At the beginning of he summer season I hope to have improved my fitness levels so I am able to compete in competitions again. As I was part of a club called the Colchester Harriers I would wish to rejoin this club. My personal best time was 12.11 when I was 13. I suspect that it has either stayed the same or decreased, so I hope that with the help of my personal exercise plan I will get back into shape and to competition level again. When I was in training, I was training at the club for 3 times a week for 1 hour and would do my own training practice as well, so that I was training for about 5 hours per week. Now, however, I don't really do not do much exercise apart from kick boxing for1 hour a week, so I would say that I have gone through reversal and am not at such a high level as fitness as I once was. As I'm no longer training for that specific sport I will describe my old training programme. Winter and summer time training differed as the Garrison could not be used in wet and icy

I will be doing pre-season training as then I can be fully prepared for the rugby season. I am a healthy person as I do not suffer from any illnesses and have not broken a bone in my body however; I occasionally get pains in my hamstrings and in the balls of my feet (tarsals). Testing is important for all players, as it provides a baseline from which you can compare your progress and measure improved performances that have occurred as a result of the training programme. I have represented my county, Berkshire, at both cross-country and athletics (1500m.) I have a passion for cross-country, and so am going to use the six week training period in order to increase further my levels of Cardiovascular endurance. I am going to use circuit training in the form of a fitness circuit in order to do this. Using the principals of training, Specificity, Progression, Overload, Reversibility (and Tedium/training,) I will focus particularly on the Overload section because this is the principal which assures your fitness levels increase rather than level off at a plateau. In order to continue to overload my body, and therefore continue to improve my fitness, I must use the principals of overloading i.e. Frequency, Intensity, Time and Type. I will focus on both the frequency and the time of my sessions throughout the six weeks, assuring that progression takes place, and that I do not reach a

Personal Fitness Coursework

The Aim of my Programme What is the aim of this programme? The purpose of this programme is to decide on my current fitness level and to improve my relative sport, which is netball. To start of my programme I am going to explain what fitness is then I am going to analyse my level of fitness in order to decide how fit I am. Finally I am going to decide on what fitness targets I think are relevant to achieve by the end of this. What is physical fitness? Physical fitness is a set of qualities that are either health related or performance (or skill) related. Health related fitness comprises those components of fitness that show a relationship with health status. Performance/skill related fitness involves those components of fitness that enable best work or sport performance. General Fitness is- is the ability to carry out every day activities where you're hardly tired when performing them with enough energy left for emergencies. For example, walking a dog, walking up stairs, or carrying the shopping bags etc. Specific Fitness is- fitness is where you are physically fit enough to perform your sports with out becoming tired. In order to perform well at your sport you need to have everything planned in your head. For example you may have set play with other players in your team in order to win and make it difficult for the opposition. You may also individually have a visual

Health related fitness for two sports.

Health related fitness for two sports I have chosen to compare the related fitness for football, and netball. These two sports first and foremost are, somewhat mistakenly, restricted to gender in peoples ideas. Football is often perceived as a male dominated sport; the facts say otherwise, football being the fastest growing female sport not only within this country but also in larger countries such as the USA. Netball, on the other hand is often viewed as a female sport, this view is slightly more understandable given the relative non-participation of men on a higher stage, but to pigeon-hole sports in the modern era is wrong. Football, due to the large amount of physical contact is often deemed one of the more physically taxing of competitive sports, injury is not uncommon, although a fair proportion of injury is muscle based - meaning pulls and strains rather than impact injuries. Netball, is a non-contact sport, therefore the risk of impact injury is very low, although there will always be accidental collisions. There is a large amount of movement still involved, with pivoting and turning sharply an important part of the game, injury can result. It is important therefore to be agile and flexible for both sports, for both similar and different reasons. Football is slightly more dynamic, and often played at a higher intensity than netball, whereas netball relies upon
