Report on application forms and letterheads.

Report on application forms and letterheads... Contents Page Introduction I have collected 6 documents. I collected a letterhead and an application form each from 3 different companies. This report will show my findings and working out of the 6 collected documents. Description of each document will be shown along with their good points and bad points on the writing and presentation style. This report will also show the similarities of the 6 documents and how they could be improved. The content, layout and purpose of the documents will also be discussed in this report to help me get to a conclusion. Office World Letterhead Content The content shown in the letterhead is basic. It has the 'Office World' company logo which is there to represent the true company identity. It is an eye-catching logo because of the colours that have been used by the designer to create it. The letters in the logo are big and bold which help it to stand out from the background and attracts a reader's attention. The colour used in the background for the company logo, contrasts well with the company name because they are both dissimilar colours which help it to be eye-catching. This letterhead also has footer which provides details of the company. These details can help a reader in many ways. If the reader wants to communicate with the company in any way he can do so by either using the fax

Evaluation; preparation of a Thai style meal

Evaluation Time of preparation During my preparation time I organised the ingredients as there were many needed for the recipe and many were liquid so assembly at home was impractical. To begin with I washed and sliced veg, and measured out ingredients that were only needed in small quantities, such as curry paste, vanilla extract, nuts, ginger, garlic and other herbs and spices. I then poured meat and marinade into baking trays and put these aside. I organised ingredients so they would be in order of work and easily accessible. I opened the tins of mango and papaya and drained these and left to stand. I also separated egg whites and yolks (as the cake required both separately).I washed rice and grated dried coconut and warmed milk (coconut) for the recipe. I feel my preparation time could have been used better, I was confused as there were so many ingredients I only needed tiny amounts of, there were small pots all around and I did not work very well with the clutter. I was worried and forgot to do several things which dragged on into my cookery time and caused delay further on into the practical. I found working with so many things difficult and feel it would have greatly aided my progress if I had measured more of the ingredients in advance and combined them instead of bringing in lots of small jars. During my preparation time I also did things like preheat the oven

Fast-food Industry Analysis . (a) Service and production: Fast-food industry has also been called Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Industry. There are several segments of production in the QSR industry, which include burgers, chicken, pizza, sandwiches and Mexican food. Nevertheless, the burger sector still exists as the main item of production. A majority of QSR companies offer this product though signature brand names. For example The Big Mac, Six Dollar Burger, The Whopper, The Famous Star, and The Sourdough Jack. QSR industry contains both traditional and non-traditional quick service restaurants. Traditional restaurants units are located at shopping centers, gas stations and in residential areas. Desk Top Publishing coursework girl scouts leaflet

IDENTIFY Background Miss Darling is the president of a girl-scout group called the Green Peacocks. The Green Peacocks was established in 1960 by her grandmother Mrs. Darling. This club was created to teach young girls between the ages of 5 - 16 years the usefulness of friendship, teamwork and training. The club is located in North Finchley. Statement of the problem At the moment, the Green Peacocks are attended poorly because of the insufficient equipment and facilities and advertisement. This is because the leaflets are hand-written which is boring and hard top understand. Most of the time, people throw the leaflets away because they don't understand the writing and think it is too boring. This year she wants me to create a leaflet containing the aims, activities, places visited and the awards achieved at the end of each year. Consideration of Alternate Solutions . A leaflet could be designed and written up by hand and then photocopied and handed out to people. This leaflet would contain all the necessary information but the problem with this idea is that the information may not be clear and the leaflet will be very unattractive. 2. A word processor could be used to type up the leaflets as well as insert graphics and fancy headings. This solution will be better than using freehand and it will look more professional. This solution is not as good because this computer

The Progression of the Sail Boat from Past to Present and beyond

The Progression of the Sail Boat from Past to Present and beyond Abstract - Objective one Sailing has been around for a long time through history, the sailing boat has been used for trade, travel and the might of war. During the great periods in history the sailing boat has adopted more advanced technologies to dramatically improve performance. To describe this continuing change I have decided to report upon the progression of the sail with a design prospective, looking at the materials used and the general shape and design of the boat through history. This is a nice opportunity for the reader and I to figure out the changes and uncover the design break-throughs, because I am a keen sailor and would enjoy strengthening my design understanding of the sport. I will also try to include the trends and popular designs that influenced the market to see what made them superior to the competition. This report will therefore look at the success of the design progression and conclude with a personal overview on the current situation. - Objective Two In order to compose this project I will need to research into the topic. Sailing is very broad so I will not really have any problems in tracking these sources. For example the appendix shows I used a great number of websites and books. I was even lucky enough to find a program on Channel 5 about the latest materials used in sailing.

How easy is it for someone with a dietary need to eat appropriate foods?

How easy is it for someone with a dietary need to eat appropriate foods? Section A: Task 1: Planning and Information Factors Involved How easy exactly is it for someone with a dietary need to eat appropriate foods? What exactly is a dietary need? I know that it can't be the easiest thing in the world to have a dietary need and eating all the appropriate foods needed is the simplest task. A dietary need is basically when a person's body does not function as an average one. An example of this is a popular dysfunction in the body when it can not produce a hormone called insulin, which is responsible for the absorption of glucose into cells. So this means the diabetic has to firstly inject this hormone and maintain a diet with not too much or too little glucose, it has to be exactly balanced. Another example of a dietary need is Crohn's Disease, which is when an inflammation occurs in the digestive system. Coronary Heart Disease, another dietary need is the narrowing of the coronary arteries feeding the heart. I am going to particularly focus on Diabetes that is the most common of the selected dietary needs I have selected. I am going to investigate what it is like to self motivate you as well e.g. a diabetic can not just go and eat several chocolate bars, this could cause severe problems even death. So I am going to see just how hard it is to self motivate yourself if you did

PROSPECTS OF BACTERIOCINS AS BIOPRESEVRATIVES IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY (A REVIEW)

PROSPECTS OF BACTERIOCINS AS BIOPRESEVRATIVES IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY (A REVIEW) Adeyemo, M. B.1, 2, Azare, B. A.2* and Kayode, J. O.2 National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Abuja, Nigeria 2Department of Biological Science University of Abuja P.M.B. 117, Abuja, Nigeria *Author for Correspondence: Tel: (803) 504-0447; (804) 411-1564 Abstract Bacteriocins are ribosomally synthesized polypeptides possessing bactericidal activity that are rapidly digested by proteases in the human digestive tract. They are proteinaceous compounds of bacterial origin and are lethal to bacteria other than the producing strain. Historically, chemical preservatives and other traditional barriers have been used in food products to inhibit microbial growth. Consumers have been consistently concerned about possible adverse health effects from the presence of chemical additives in their foods. As a result, consumers are drawn to natural and 'fresher' foods with no chemical preservatives added. This perception, coupled with the increasing demand for minimally processed foods with long shelf life and convenience, has stimulated research interest in alternative but effective preservatives. Bacteriocins may be considered natural preservatives or biopreservatives that fulfill these requirements. This review article focuses on the current applications, problems and future prospects

Electronics CW1

SHEEP COUNTER by Ian Kemp August 2000 Sheep Counter. Aim This project is designed to meet the need of a busy sheep farmer. Counting sheep can be a time consuming and awkward task and so a solution to this problem would be to make an electronic counter so that every time a sheep passes through a gate the counter would add one. However, it must only count up one when the sheep has actually passed through the gate, e.g. if the sheep pauses in the middle of the gate the counter should not go up one. Research The gate needs to be wide enough for the sheep to be able to easily pass through and yet not so wide that more than one sheep at a time can get through. To find out some details of the physical size of sheep I e-mailed a sheep farmer that I know, Mr Shepherd. A screen shot of my e-mail is shown below. In the reply that I received from Mr Shepherd, he advised me that for the width of the sheep in the flock, most are about 40 cm wide, with some of the larger ones being as much as 50 cm. He also said that, the light beam needs to be about 45 cm above the ground so that it will be able to detect both the larger, mature animals and also the smaller lambs. I therefore intend designing my system for a gate that is 60 cm wide as it will ensure that it works properly for 50cm. Specification My system must be able to reliably detect sheep passing through the 60cm wide
