Identify (5 marks) Identifying the user, Background Details The user will be the receptionist of the NSDAP who needs a way of making the system more efficient. The NSDAP was set up a few years ago and is a dental surgery with few patients. The user would like a way of arranging the patient's details easily as the number of patients is increasing rapidly. Currently the secretary is asking the new patients to fill in a hand written form, of which she copies onto another paper form. This form then is moved into a back storeroom, which is roughly kept in alphabetical order. When a patient wishes to book an appointment the receptionist gets the calendar, which has patient's appointments and views, which dates/times, are free. Once the patient has chosen a time, the secretary writes in the patients name for reference. On the day of the appointment, the secretary copies the calendar for the dentist or his assisting nurse, and then she finds the patient's information from the name off the calendar. These are kept in a box in time order, which the assisting nurse takes them in order and reads out the patient's names calling them to be seen by the Dentist. Creating a computer system for a video rental shop

sis Introduction ABZ World is a video rental shop, located in Stoke Newington town centre. It is a relatively small shop and has 300 members, who live in and around Stoke Newington. The shop is owned and managed by Abdullah Elgayar. He set up the business two years ago and has two other staff working in the shop on a part time basis. Abdullah currently has a filing system that occupies a great deal of space and is very time consuming to analyse. He gives his members cards and has to manually record which video members are hiring. The old paper filing system is very inefficient in notifying when members are overdue with bringing the videos back. This in turn means other customers are unsatisfied when the video they want isn't in stock and so Abdullah loses out on revenue. His shop has not got much space and the filing system is taking 1/4 of the shop floor, more spaces are needed for videos and the shop at the moment is looking crap and tight costumes feel isolated and do not get to look around and look at covers of videos as the shop can get cramp, card board standing posters have been scraped this makes advertisement of movies hard. Costumers will not know when the new videos have arrived this make business in his shop go down. More and more children are coming to the shop and Abdullah says "I have very little movies for young children if I don't sort it out they

For my Project we have to solve a problem through communicating, using computers.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASK TO BE ATTEMTED Introduction E-mail is the new modern way to Communicate. Most people have access to the internet Now meaning that they can send e-mail to anybody in the world for example you can meet people over the internet and then get to know them better by E-Mailing them. You can use e-mail to buy things of the Internet anything from a Television to a new car. In this project I will investigate how I can communicate with people by using different methods. Ideas Of Task For my Project we have to solve a problem through communicating, using computers. The problem could be anything; the main ideas are openings of clubs. For example communicating to people, through computer means, about a new opening of, say a new football club. This is not the only choice though; you could just make a presentation, for say pupils who are starting secondary school, telling them about the secondary school, its teachers, and the facilities. We have to communicate ideas to a decided audience, it could be advertising, or simply information presented in either a presentation, or website. Chosen Idea The problem, which I have chose, is that a company wants to make more Kung-fu clubs around London because they feel that the area is not exactly safe for children to go out by themselves, and so children need to learn how to defend themselves. The company needs to get
