Math's Coursework The Problem We have been set a problem which is to investigate step stairs. Throughout this report I will be planning how to tackle the problem, break it down simpler into an equation. All the results will be put into tables so I can look for a pattern. I will then produce my own rule to use and test and justify it. The problem to which I am solving is creating my own rule to use to calculate the 3step-stair. The 'elegies highlight the barrier between signifier and signified, between the language of grief and the subjective sense of loss' (Champion). Analyse the 'language of grief' in at least two Old English elegies, considering the extent to which it influences your own interpretation of the poems and the difficulties it may pose. The rather abrupt transition from the speaker's situation to the ending homilies in The Seafarer and The Wanderer has led to questioning of whether the final lines of both elegies are foreign additions to them or not. Recent criticism seems to suggest that the reluctance to accept the poem as unsullied has waned. Rising forth from this acceptance of the poem's structure is the emergence of many theories that claim to reconcile the initial themes of the poems with the concluding sermon-like Christian endings. The 'language of grief' and the difficulties it poses strongly influenced my perception that the poems are structurally designed to progress towards the ending homilies. The speaker in The Wanderer addresses his sense of loss whilst he is at sea, providing an objective correlative for his state of exile. This becomes more potent when the speaker dreams of a happier time in the hall with his Lord. When he awakes the speaker finds himself in the company only of sea birds and fallow waves, not only pointing to a sharp contrast between his situation

Risk averters are those who do not wish to take risks, when facing choices of comparable returns they tend to chose the less risky alternative. From the statistics in source E it can be seen that the consumption of all main foodstuff as bread, potatoes, meat and butter decreases significantly between 1928 and 1932. The fall in the consumption of all food goods foreshadows that the life of the peasants worsen, they have less for eating which lowers their standards of living. They are required to work intensively for the collectivisation plan but at the same time are consuming less food which suggest bad conditions of living as famine and often death cases due to hunger. The most serious decrease is in the consumption of meat and lard which in 1932 is less than half of the amount in 1928. This fall can be explained by the decrease in the numbers of livestock from 1928 till 1932. When there is less livestock this means that the peasants will consume less meat because there will be less animals to slaughter. Also because they are owned by the state the peasants will not be allowed to kill them for meat so freely. The decrease in livestock suggests decrease in milk, cheese and butter which are essential products and their lack causes bad quality of life for the peasants. b) What do the percentages

BY DONALD FORRESTER AND JUDITH HARWIN, CHILD AND FAMILY SOCIAL WORK 2006, Vol. 11, pp325-335 The literature I will be critically reviewing is an article entitled, "Parental substance misuse and child care social work: findings from the first stage of a study of 100 families". It was written by Donald Forrester and Judith Harwin. Donald Forrester was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Social Work at the time the article was published in January 2006. He has written a number of articles on the subject of Parental Substance Misuse (PSM) of which three are included in my 50 literature search. The second author, Judith Harwin is a Professor of Social Work, Department of Health and Social Care at Brunel University in the UK at the time of publication. One of the aims of this article is to address the lack of British research on the topic by reporting on the first stage of a study of all cases allocated for long-term work in four London local authorities over one year.
