However has greater drive encryption due to BitLocker which helps keep files, documents and passwords safe. Compared to Windows 7, Mac OS is less likely to get viruses because more people work on Windows OS. Mac OS is only used on one computer and apple hardware. Mac OS is based on Linux, “it is considered to be more secure than Windows 7 because of its Unix origins”. [1] Features Windows 7 has less features then Mac OS X. However features everyday tasks such as Jump List which gives you fast access to your favourite pictures, songs, websites, and documents. Its task bar is new and improved; it has “better thumbnail previews, easier-to-see icons, and more ways to customize”.[2] The more features windows have the slower the OS is. Mac OS X is fast operating and can run loads of computer operations at the same time. Compared to Windows 7, Mac OS features applications are not everyday tasks, they are more active and entertaining applications. Implementation of a switchboard.
Implementation Here is my switchboard. I have hid border margins and other abilities so the user focus's on the switchboard and nothing else. I used the main colour as green because the Peterborough City Council logo is usually green. I have created 4 buttons, which all use either a recorded macro or some VB coding. Here are the recorded macros: And here is the coding for my "exit" button on VB: When clicking the application form it goes straight onto my user form called "application form". The button uses A recorded macro and generates onto my application form which is made using the "Toolbox". Identify It is obvious to me that Edgwarebury Surgery's' current patient record system is severely outdated and needs rapid improvement. The current system relies almost entirely on manual work, which can now easily and more efficiently be done using a modern computer. This will also save the receptionists, doctors and nurses' time and hassle. At the moment, the records are all stored in a massive filing system and kept in the surgery until needed, which takes up space and can slow down the time taken to find information on a patient. This is a lengthy, tedious operation that will be cut down in my new, improved system which will use a database software package and a modern PC. With a computer system, names, dates, addresses and medical information can be stored on the hard-drive of a PC, loaded up when needed and viewed in a clear form on a database program, such as Microsoft Works or Superbase. This can be achieved by typing in a database of all registered patients of the Surgery with all required information onto a database program. The information can then be filtered, sorted and edited when needed and does not require manual sorting or time consuming jobs. It would also be possible to password protect the database file, meaning important information cannot be tampered with. Not much software will be needed. Database Coursework IDENTIFY I am creating this database for a Travel Agents in Egham. They would like me to create a database which allows them to be able to see their clients quickly and easily, see who their best customers are, be able to show them who owes them money, they would like to be able to print it out and finally it must be easy to use. I am using a computer to create the database because it will be faster, cheaper, more accurate when compared to a traditional filing system. Other uses of hydraulics Hydraulics are used in various applications including in car brakes: - * Wheel (Slave) Cylinders Wheel cylinders, are cylinders in which movable pistons convert hydraulic brake fluid pressure into mechanical force. Hydraulic pressure against the pistons within the wheel cylinder forces the brake shoes or pads against the machined surfaces of the drum or rotor. There is one cylinder (or more in some systems) for each wheel. As the brake pedal is depressed, it moves pistons within the master cylinder, pressurizing the brake fluid in the brake lines and slave cylinders at each wheel. The fluid pressure causes the wheel cylinders' pistons to move, which forces the shoes or pads against the brake drums or rotors. Drum brakes use return springs to pull the pistons back away from the drum when the pressure is released. On disc brakes, the calipers' piston seals are designed to retract the piston slightly, thus allowing the pads to clear the rotor and thereby reduce rolling friction. * Master Cylinder The master cylinder displaces hydraulic pressure to the rest of the brake system.
